Pioneer AVIC Z2 Review
Pioneer AVIC –Z2 Is A Smart Navigation Router And A Lot More Other Things
This year with the introduction of Pioneer AVIC-Z2 the company has taken the competition and technology to another level altogether. The device can perform exactly the same functions like the Z1, except that it has the ability to apparently learn the roads that are frequently taken by the driver and the data is used for influencing suggested routes. The device comes otherwise with all the features of a Z1, that is the seven inches of wonderful touch sensor screen, a hard drive space of ten gigabytes, voice recognition software, FM, XM, a CD/DVD system, along with an IPOD interface.
Now everyone using the Pioneer AVIC-Z2 and taking the same route home day on day may not really need a GPS device to guide them, but that does not demean the usability and importance of the GPS tracker the device boasts of. The very new “smart routing algorithm” however has more sizzles in its pocket than meets the eyes, -a potential speed limit calculation is done turn on turn of every road, adding up to the safety of the passenger, it even calculates and remembers the number of turns, and even information of lanes for a number of fifty spots all around the nation. The bottom-line is if someone does not have a Z1 or have never used it then the Pioneer AVIC-Z2 is completely worth a try.
The additional features of this product include a “CD Text IPOD compatible ID3 tag”, supports rear-facing camera and dual-zone capability. The product supports devices like a TV tuner, DVD changer, CD changer, a Digital Player, and a Satellite radio receiver. It has an inbuilt hard drive of thirty gigabytes of space.
The Amplifier of the Z2 is with a form factor –“In-dash unit integrated”, with a maximum output channel of fifty watts by four amplifiers, with a continuous power channel of twenty two watts, and an output of twenty two watts as well.
The most substantial and interesting is the GPS system of the Pioneer AVIC-Z2. It comes with a GPS System with GPS Navigation and a GPS Receiver. The GPS Receiver has eight channels, voice warnings, and Navigation instructions. The system is a compact device with beautifully maneuvered technology. It has voice warnings, and voice navigation instructions, an external Antenna; it includes the GPS software –TeleAtlas that is standard for Canada, and United States. The system features the high end Gyro Sensor, and another inbuilt G-force Hybrid sensor. The smart and precise navigation of the updated maps of Z2 can prove wonderfully handy. It has improved by giving a better illustration of landmarks and buildings. An addition of a compatible tuner followed by a subscription with “XM’s NavTraffic Service” will help in providing constant updates on the traffic information feeding from almost all the major metropolitans. An added microphone to the GPS assists in controlling the navigation’s all major aspects of concern, along with the amazing “text to speech” function of the software allowing Z2 to pronounce almost all the street names while a turn is being approached, so that one does not need to turn eyes from the road to check the map out. The device is handy, efficient and by far a beauty to handle.
